We curate what’s best
We build each basket around what is fresh and in season, aiming to include both fruit and vegetables and a useful balance of leafy greens, root vegetables, herbs and other seasonal crops. We also rotate selections so there is something new to discover from week to week.

Fresh Basket was created by The Farmers Alliance, a nonprofit that connects small regional producers with consumers and institutions. Our goal is straightforward: make it easier to buy great local food while creating reliable markets for the farmers who grow it.

One basket does two things: puts fresh, seasonal food on your table and strengthens the regional food system that produced it.
Bring Fresh Basket to your community.
Schools, churches, workplaces, senior communities and other organizations throughout the DMV can become a Fresh Basket Hub—a convenient pickup and distribution site for fresh, local produce.
The Farmers Alliance delivers Fresh Baskets to participating Hubs at no charge. Your organization helps spread the word and makes the baskets available for pickup and distribution.
Baskets can be tailored to your community.
For Hub and institutional programs, we can work with you to customize the basket around the people you serve, subject to season and farm availability.
